Attorney Pamela Milman’s previous experience with the Massachusetts Department of Education included assisting new schools in developing programs to comply with special education requirements and approving such programs. Today, at Education Consulting, Advocacy & Legal Services, LLC, our goal is to provide a comprehensive practice to help parents navigate the educational system to help their children.
Our goal is to provide comprehensive assistance allowing parents to help their children. More About Our Founder’s Background In Special Education And Schools’ Civil Rights Compliance
Pamela Milman established this firm after teaching special education for more than 10 years and serving as a school administrator and an education specialist for the Massachusetts Department of Education. At the Department of Education, she was responsible for implementing complaint management procedures, performing investigations, issuing findings and providing technical assistance in the interpretation of state and federal education requirements.
She chaired the Department’s Coordinated Program Review System and related oversight systems using standard monitoring procedures, criteria and standards for regulated program areas, including special education, federal and state civil rights requirements, English Learner Education, Career and Technical Education, Title I, and Safe and Drug Free Schools.
This diverse and extensive experience is reflected in the comprehensive approach that our firm now takes to helping each client find appropriate solutions to educational challenges.
Our Founder’s Mission And How We Can Help You
Pamela has dedicated her career to helping parents, children and schools ensure that children with special needs are having those needs met. She and other attorneys at our firm provide advice and representation in administrative and legal proceedings involving all education, special education and disciplinary matters.
For parents, our goal is to advocate for you and your child when you encounter roadblocks on your child’s educational journey and/or special education maze. We are available to work with you to identify special needs your child may have. We will work with your child’s school to encourage and, if necessary, compel them to provide the necessary programming. If your child is being threatened with expulsion or suspension, we will go to work for you to help you keep your child in school.
